I chewed my breakfast after I passed the immigration desk and could find a place to sit. Starbucks would only open at 07:30AM. I sent some text messages to my friends and got some messages and phone calls back. Work was still on my mind… had to sent some contact numbers to my team members.
I bought some Indonesia’s magazines (my sister requested it) in the airport, because I didn’t have time to buy it before. I had my black coffee couple minutes after 07:30AM. Good! Jot down some to-do lists.
CX 718 Jakarta – Hong Kong (09:15 – 15:00)
Smooth flight, good food (I loved the seafood noodle), comfortable and roomy seat. I bet the plane is fairly new. I watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Die Hard 4.0 during this flight… of course on and off, because I thought I slept through the flight. *smile* The plane arrived about half an hour earlier than the scheduled arrival. I found it amusing when the flight attendant (who conveyed announcement in Indonesian language) repeated “please do not turn on your mobile phone until we come to a complete stop” several times but didn’t do so when they conveyed the announcement in English and Cantonese. *smile* (Emang sih soal ini udah jadi trade mark orang Indonesia — yang nggak sabar mau langsung hidupin handphone-nya seketika sesudah touch down.)
I had red bean ice while I was waiting for my flight to Toronto in Hong Kong. And, then, I realized that I lost my book… I probably left in in CX 718. *sigh* I reported this to the ground staff, but they couldn’t find it in the Lost & Found.
CX 828 Hong Kong – Toronto via Anchorage (16:35 – 20:30)
Another smoth flight, not too bumpy. And yet the seat was not so comportable and roomy as the flight before… he, he, he,… some expectations, huh? I just remembered that I watched A Mighty Heart because I slept all the way from Hong Kong to Anchorage. (I asked the flight attendant to wake me up when they’re serving meals. *smile*)
Touched down in Toronto 10-min ahead of the scheduled time. Suddenly I felt that I missed this city. I left it for about 2 years. I passed the immigration as returning resident hassle-free. I texted my sister and brother-in-law while I was waiting for my luggages. (My goodness it took about one solid hour before they could fix the technical difficulties in baggage handling from the plane to the terminal.)
My brother-in-law was already waiting in the waiting area. By around 10:30PM I arrived at my sister’s home. I hugged and kissed my sister and mother. Thea and Marcia already slept. I unpacked my luggages, washed my face… and then had dinner accompanied by my family. I had congee and spicy turnip from Congee Wong for dinner — one of my favorite places to eat when I was in Toronto. *smile*
Lovely how I could have this smooth flight…
