I thought about asking Nancy to have dinner together. But, then Nancy told me that she’ll be going to Virginia with Nelson to visit their friends.
I have no other friends who live downtown and can make last-minute decision to have dinner with me. So, after I called the day off – around 6PM today – I headed off to Salad King. I walked from the office to Salad King. The weather was cool with a lot of breeze. I like it. I forgot to bring my camera. Otherwise I could shoot some activities performed in Dundas Square. I know Luminato festival still runs until next week.
By around 6:20PM, I entered the packed Salad King. This place is always packed but I love their food. Delicious but reasonably priced. Thank God I got a seat soon enough. While I was waiting for my order to arrive, a man asked whether I could share the table with him. Sure. He looked like a nice man – didn’t look like a criminal. And most importantly he knows that Jakarta, and not Bali, is Indonesia’s capital. *smile*
It’s Friday’s night. The mood was good. We soon started the conversation. I couldn’t get his accent at the beginning. I thought he’s from east coast. He’s a Scottish on a 2-week trip to Toronto. His father is Scottish and his mother is from Chezch Republic. He told me what it’s like living in Scotland, the weather, etc. And then we talked about soccer, Croatia just defeated Germany by 2 to 1. Currently Croatia and Portugal led the game with highest points. Hehehe… yes, it’s Euro 2008!
I finished my dinner and wrote him the address of a place worth to eat downtown and its special menu if he still wants to try oriental food.
I had good dinner companion. The food was good, as usual. My stomach was full. The weather was nice. What more can you ask? *smile*
