After work I went to SMASH Gallery…. because I wanted to meet Tessar and checked out his paintings.
The address is at 2880 Dundas Street West (on Keele). I thought I could just walk down to Dundas and Yonge intersection, took Streetcar 505 all the way to west to Keele. It should be short and easy. I didn’t check the map. It turned out that the 505 ends at Dundas West Station. I was lost. My mind started to draw the map. I thought it should be a short distance and I could just walk to SMASH. Later on, I checked my TTC map and decided to return to Dundas West Station. Got off at Keele Station and took bus route 41 and got down on Dundas St. West. Couple minute walk and then I reached SMASH.
It’s already 8PM. Many people were already in the gallery. I went inside, tried to find Tessar. I spotted Tessar’s mom and dad, PDy JLo and Sensei Lo, and Mr. Wen and Alice. Then, I knew that Tessar didn’t come for this exhibition. He just sent one of his paintings – that’s already sold! – for this exhibition. I thought I could congratulate him on the spot! Very proud of him. *smile*
Tessar is working in LA right now. PDy JLo said that there’s a fan club dedicated for Tessar’s artistry work. He’ll have his solo show next year, in SF, I guess. Check out Tessar’s site if you’re an art fanatic. *smile*

SMASH: The Junction of Art and Salvage in Toronto as appears in Ian Irving’s False Positive.
There are many excellent and exquisite paintings by Kagan McLeod (Tessar’s friend at Sheridan), Harvey Chan (Tessar’s former teacher at Sheridan), and other artists from Canada, USA, and Japan. PDy JLo told me that Harvey is the one that’s retained by the Canada Post to paint Chinese horoscope stamp for Canada’s Chinese New Year edition.
I just absorbed and enjoyed the event, including the contemporary dance performance.
When we’re about to leave, Sheila (Alice’s secondary school teacher…. Alice is Tessar’s older sister) arrived. So, PDy JLo accompanied her around and I sat down and talked with Sensei Lo. The exhibition ran until 11PM, but we went out around 9PM.
Friends, thank you for inviting me, dropping me off at my sister’s house, and spending the good brief time tonight with me and the Vuckovic’s family. *smile*
